Swivel joint pipe systems
Swivel joint pipe systems
Pipework Design Engineers, involved in such Industries as Steel Production, Process Technology, Food Processing, Offshore and General Engineering, constantly endevour to find a solution to enable, linear variations to coincide with the swivelling and rotating movements of pipes.
Certain conditions require pipes to be flexible at specific point locations whilst subject to constant vibrations and torsion impacts.
A flexible hose connection would seem the most obvious solution for constant vibrations and torsion impacts, but in many cases this is not practicable due to the increased operational requirements and safety considerations. However, the required flexiblity for example linear – or thermal expansion can also be achieved by integrating pipe construction elements such as, hinged joints, pendulum elements as well as swivelling and adjusting modules.
Swivel joints and ball joints make piping system elements flexible.
They provide 360° movement between piping system elements in one or more planes.
Together with the low rotational torque their special design permits controlled three-dimensional movements.
