Safety breakaway couplings
Safety breakaway couplings
HTT can offer an succesfully manufactured component which effectively and efficiently overcomes human error in an environment where hazardous, toxic, inflammable liquids, gases or chemicals are present.
The Safety Breakaway Coupling greatly reduces the occurrence of dangerous accidents and pollution.
Acting as the safety device it is widely used in the following areas where loading and unloading takes place with flexible hoses or loading arms.
- Storage tank surroundings, road tanker discharge points
- Ship to shore
- Ship to rig
- Ship to ship
- LNG Ship-to-ship Transfer Systems
- Rail tanker to storage tank
The Breakaway Coupling acts as an identified safe parting point in a hose or loading arm product transfer line, separating in the event of excessive forces being applied, and provides an instantaneous mechanical positive closedown, therefore eliminating from both sides involved, the possibility of human danger, explosion, fire or environmental pollution damage.
